Dominick Dunne
Born Oct 29th, 1925
Died Aug 26th, 2009
In the life of Dominick Dunne there was little that was not done. Dunne went into WW 2 during his senior year of school, not only surviving but showing valor through many battles. Dunne was awarded the Bronze Star for his bravery in battle by saving two injured soldiers from the advancing Germans. After coming home from the war, Dunne went to school for a bit, and then entered the television business. Beginning with a floor manager position on The Howdy Doody Show, Dunne launched his career. Some time after, he married the beautiful Ellen Beatriz Griffin, and had a baby son. Dunne started rising in the television industry, gaining rank in 20th Century Fox and holding a vice presidency at Four Star Pictures. Through his connections, Dunne was able to socialize with many stars of the day. This also got him into heavy alcohol use, along with drugs. This had a strong negative effect on his family, and his wife filed for divorce. Dunne slowly fell from his throne in Hollywood, finally finding a place in Oregon where he began to write. Gaining success in writing, Dunne directed his focus completely to it. A few years later, Dunne received a message explaining that his daughter was in a comma. Soon afterwords she passed on, directing Dunne into reporting on murder trials. Having a great connection with people in his relationships gave Dunne great success. This success however, could not cure him of bladder cancer that had been diagnosed to him less than a year earlier. Loved by many, known by multitudes, Dominick Dunne regrettably passed away on August the 26th 2009. He will be greatly missed.
